Hoods

The fan removes cooking and frying vapor, preventing it from spreading throughout the house. There are two extraction systems:

• Exhaust hood: the intake air is exhausted to the outside.
• Recirculation hood: the air is filtered before being returned to the kitchen.

Some ranges offer both modes of operation. In addition to its practicality, the filter unit or hood can also become a real design object that gives cachet to a kitchen.

A stamp of quality

Look for the Home Ventilating Institute (HVI) seal, which guarantees that the airflow (CFM) and noise levels specified by the manufacturer have been rigorously tested by an independent laboratory.
